NORTH COAST
In 2021 we had excellent weather with mild temperatures towards the end of the growing season which gave the fruit a little more time to mature and bring out more flavors before it was harvested. Yields in 2021 were lower due to smaller clusters and berries, but it will go down as a great vintage in Napa Valley and the surrounding areas. The 2021 Chardonnays are bright, fresh, and full-flavored wines. As always, we work with the best vineyards in Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino counties to craft our Smokescreen Chardonnay.
TASTING NOTES
Our Burgundy meets California style Chardonnay continues with the 2021 vintage. This Chardonnay has a touch of oak and ML and is made in a very food friendly style. The nose is super fragrant with tropical pear, white flower, peach, and a hint of flint. The palate expands with a creamy texture and is framed with great acidity and integrated oak, has hints of green apple, pear, and citrus blossom with a touch of pineapple. It ends with great minerality and a velvety finish.
